[bsd.u] is a top choice for me, when it comes to the lo-fi experimental scene. He’s been at this for at least the past five years and it really shows in his production and mixing. [bsd.u] takes you on a trip through his mind, on a melancholy horse and carriage….
In my eyes he is a master sampler, often taking you to nostalgic places with samples from anime, avante-garde jazz, obscure films and much more.
Looking through his twitter, I find [bsd.u] to be an individual with a sense of humor akin to the internet generation of memes and inside jokes. He also isn’t afraid to speak on his emotional state from time to time as well. In some twitter posts you will discover he is finding it hard to stay positive about his music or life in general. This is something I belive the majority of youth can understand and relate to. With a healthy dab of chopped beats and distorted samples, he paints a complex picture bathed in twilight and opiates. [bsd.u] plays with a variety of music from artists of the 70s and 90s era and that reflects in the overall tone of certain songs. Paying homage to DJ SCREW, [bsd.u] twists Chopped n’ Screwed with Phonk and new age Lo-Fi to create his own style.
I recommend you check out his SoundCloud page for a more intimate look into who [bsd.u] is as an artist. There are some excellent mixes as well as some light hearted tracks in which he flexes his producer muscles in the realm of trap and phonk.
While [bsd.u] can have a melancholy vibe at times he knows how to show love to his supporters, constantly thanking them for the likes and follows. With over 800,000 plays a month on Spotify, [bsd.u] is an up and coming artist with a clear audience that seems to grow as the months fly by.
